Actually, hitchhiking Ferdinand wanted to be picked up by a truck and not any further than to the next pond. How on earth could a little, innocent grey-freckled cross-tooth newt expect something like that? Maybe his new, silver diving suit had misled the captain of the rocket who surely was only trying to be polite. But now, it was too late! Once accepted, there was hardly anything he could do to turn the offer down being picked up by a rocket.
The higher they flew up in the sky, the more Ferdi’s adrenalin level was rising. Cudgelling his brains where this unplanned trip would end, one thing was for sure: his groovy, new diving suit was of no earthly use.
